TWG & The Hist celebrate International Womens Day

On International Women’s Day, the College Historical Society (The Hist), celebrated pioneering women in Trinity, So many wonderful stories were celebrated including the staff campaign to win pay and pension equality. The panel featured Provost Linda Doyle, Elaine Reynolds from Trinity Access Programmes, Prof. Andrew Somerville and Mary Leahy (head of TCD Employment Relations). It was a fantastic day of education and inspiration. We were advised by the impressive panel that no matter how proud we are of advances made we still have so much to do. We were encouraged to stop looking to be included in current systems. But to challenge the systems, rip them up and create better ones. We were reminded that some women don’t even have their basic needs met they cannot be left behind. In conclusion there was a call to action to create new visions and tangible actions to ensure continued equality. For Trinity we are happy to support a goal to increase the number of female TAP
