Symposium Session 1:
Reflecting on the Contributions of Women to Trinity College Dublin since 1904,
Women of Trinity video & Linda Doyle, Provost introduction.
This symposium will focus on the personal experiences of women in Trinity in the past and will have five women who were each a trailblazer in their own right in the College. We will hear some personal anecdotes and consider how far we have come over the last 120 years. It might be useful context that the Hist only voted to admit female students in 1968 - this is representative of the fact that it was not smooth sailing or in any way easy for women in the College even after they were admitted as students in 1904.

1:00pm Symposium Session 2:
Looking Forward to the next 120 Years of Women in Trinity College Dublin
The topic of the second panel will essentially be about the status and role of women in Trinity (and universities more broadly speaking) today and looking to the future of that. This panel is made up of leaders and activists from a variety of backgrounds and areas in College. This will broadly involve noting how prominent women are in all areas of the College but more importantly, it aims to spark a productive conversation about intersectionality in regards to gender equality and inclusivity. Topics of discussion may include whether there are specific areas where women are underrepresented (e.g. STEM, certain senior positions, etc) or if certain subsections of women are still underrepresented.
