If a female had once passed the gate…

TWG Centenary Exhibition launch, 27th April 2022

One of the long-anticipated highlights to mark our centenary is the TWG Centenary Exhibition of a selection of highlights from the TWG archive in the Long Room of the Old Library. The sun came out for the launch, along with many past and present members of Trinity Women Graduates, on 27th April 2022. Guests and speakers included Chancellor Mary McAleese, Provost Linda Doyle and Librarian Helen Shenton. Guest speakers at the event were Ambassador Patricia O’Brien and poet, Paula Meehan. Our sister organisations were represented too, with President Frances Patton of the IrFUW, President Fiona Ahern of UCD Women Graduates’ Association and Mary Wilson of UCC. There were many familiar faces, and the last few years apart has only made everyone even happier to see each other in person again.

A special word of thanks to former President of Trinity Women Graduates, and very active TWG committee member, Grace O’Malley. Grace, along with other members of the TWG Archive Centenary sub-committee worked tirelessly over the past few years to make this exhibition a reality. Archivist Ciara Daly was responsible for searching for lost treasures in the archive and has done a fantastic job of bringing the story of Trinity’s women graduates to life.

The exhibition will be on display in the Long Room until the end of May. If you can’t make it to the exhibition in person, join us for our webinar on May 11th with Ciara Daly. There is also an online version of the exhibition now available.
