Women in Astronomy with Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell

TWG and Women in Research Ireland spent an interesting hour in Dame Bell Burnell’s company. If you missed the live event you can watch the recording here. This was a fascinating discussion on women in astronomy and unconscious bias in academia. Dame Bell Burnell became the first woman President of the Institute of Physics for the UK and Ireland in 2008 and the first woman President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, 2014. Along with a small group of women scientists, Dame Bell Burnell set up the Athena SWAN scheme.
